Traveling Through British Columbia - June 22nd - 23rd

On the Road to Prince George (via the Hwy 97 - Cariboo Hwy)
The easy part of the drive, along lakes in the flat before heading into the mountains

Fun with hairpin turns and 13% grades

While this was beautiful, it is a little rough on the gas mileage of the RV

There were many low, narrow one lane wooden bridges on today's travels

It's always an adventure traveling in Canada
A mudslide had taken out part of Hwy 99
so a little off roading got us back on pavement

June 23rd
Traveling from Prince George to Kitwanga
Today we have a sad story, which we decided to share anyway. After a nice lunch in Huston, BC we headed back out on Yellowhead Highway (Hwy16) where we saw our first little black bear of this trip. Unfortunately, we witnessed him being struck by a semi truck, I can't tell you how heavy hearted both of us felt. We rode in silence for a long time processing the happiness of seeing the black bear and then the tragedy that unfolded right in front of our eyes in a matter of just a few short seconds.  The day was not lost to sadness as we saw a glacier and a moose wading in a pond further down the highway.
An unusual RV that appears to be traveling from South America
all the way to Alaska via the map on back

The Twin Falls/Glacier Gulch outside of Smithers
(we will need to come back and see the 550ft Twin Falls)

Heading up Highway 37 (Dease Lake Hwy) to our camp spot in Kitwanga, BC
