Haines, AK June 27-28

Haines, AK a small coastal town that connects the Alaska Highway and Yukon, Canada. It is home to the Chilkat Bald Eagle Preserve (3,000+ eagles from Oct to Feb). June 27th   Travel from Teslin to Whitehorse to Haines today. Prince Rupert Coastal Visit & Travel Days June 24th-26th

June 24th Prince Rupert coast visit by Jeep. Traveling Through British Columbia - June 22nd - 23rd

On the Road to Prince George (via the Hwy 97 - Cariboo Hwy) The easy part of the drive, along lakes in the flat before heading into the mountains Fun with hairpin turns and 13% grades  While this was beautiful, it is a little rough on the gas mileage of the RV There were many low, narrow one lane wooden bridges on today's travels It's always an adventure traveling in Canada A mudslide had taken out part of Hwy 99 so a little off roading got us back on pavement  June 23rd  Traveling from Prince George to Kitwanga Today we have a sad story, which we decided to share anyway. After a nice lunch in Huston, BC we headed back out on Yellowhead Highway (Hwy16) where we saw our first little black bear of this trip. Unfortunately, we witnessed him being struck by a semi truck, I can't tell you how heavy hearted both of us felt. Into Canada June 20th-21st

Across the Border into British Columbia, Canada Happy campers ready to hit the open road June 20th Around the outskirts of Vancouver taking Highway One to the Sea-to-Sky highway (Hwy 99) to Whistler, BC Port Mann Bridge over the Fraser River Hwy 99 near Horseshoe Bay Whistler RV & Campground, site 44, view from our front window June 21st Before exploring the views on the motorcycle Lars had to reprogram the motors for the RV wall slide out. It's never good (weather, mosquitos, integrity of the coach) when there is a two inch gap between the RV outer wall and the slide out when its been retracted. Shannon Falls - BC's 3rd highest waterfall,  plunging 335 m. over cliffs, with hiking trails to viewing areas.
